Set within the county of Bedfordshire in the East of England, the quiet town of Leighton Buzzard sits close to the county border betwixt Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, beside the Grand Union Canal, Leighton Buzzard has a populace of around 37,000 and a story stretching back to the Roman period, at which time the early Watling Street (now the A-5) passed the town. At present Leighton Buzzard is linked to the adjoining town of Linslade it is roughly halfway between Luton and Milton Keynes (Buckinghamshire), it is situated close to the Chiltern Hills and boasts a substantial quarrying industry (sand).
