Based in the county of Beds, the busy town of Leighton Buzzard is very near to the border betwixt Bedfordshire and Bucks, on the banks of the Grand Union Canal, Leighton Buzzard has a population of about 37,000 and a history stretching back to Roman times, when the historic Watling St (now the A-5) passed by the town. These days Leighton Buzzard is linked to the neighbouring town of Linslade it is about mid-way between Milton Keynes and Luton, it is placed close to the Chilterns and boasts a substantial sand quarrying industry.
