Located in the county of Beds in the East of England, the tranquil town of Leighton Buzzard stands very near to the county border in between Buckinghamshire and Beds, on the Grand Union Canal, Leighton Buzzard has a resident population of around 37,000 and a history going back to Roman days, when the historical Watling St (now the A-5) passed by the town. At present Leighton Buzzard is more or less connected to the nearby town of Linslade and is roughly midway between Luton and Milton Keynes (Buckinghamshire), it is found near to the Chiltern Hills (Chilterns) and boasts a substantial quarrying industry (sand).
